YourHomeCostsWhy the payment changed

About YourHomeCosts

Editorial desk. Last updated .

YourHomeCosts explains why a housing payment changed and what a homeowner can do about the specific line that moved. The site is operated by Mike Molina. Mailing address: 7901 4th St N #8286, St. Petersburg, FL 33702, USA. There is no account, no saved loan file, and no advisor or attorney relationship.

How the tools work

The payment explainer adds the tax change, the insurance change, and any shortage you enter, then compares a stated cushion with one-sixth of estimated annual disbursements and a shortage with the collection schedules in 12 CFR § 1024.17. Those checks are arithmetic. They do not depend on a model.

If an AI Gateway model and key are configured, a model may read an uploaded statement for that request and may rewrite the summary or the appeal letter. That text is labeled AI-generated and can be wrong. Uploads are held in memory for the request and are not written to a database or a file store. If the key is missing, the same pages still explain numbers you type yourself.

The tax appeal tool is a self-help organizer. It is not legal representation and it promises no outcome. The score starts from the gap between assessed value and the market value you enter, then moves up or down based on whether the sales you listed support that figure. Counties set the form and the deadline.

What this is not

Nothing on the site is financial, tax, legal, lending, insurance, or appraisal advice. The editorial desk is not your servicer, assessor, insurer, or attorney. A flag that says “likely error” means the figures disagree with the federal rule as stated on this site. It is not a ruling.
